Prior to this, he has raised multi-billion dollar debt funding, large deals in private/public equity as a senior finance professional at top Indian companies - NTPC, ONGC, VSNL and Birla AT&T.


Bitten by the start-up bug, after his long stint with industry, building big brands, he embarked upon the role of a guardian for budding entrepreneurs to share his experience through co-founding SPARKPLUGGERS and incubating start-ups. He also co-founded a niche CSR Strategic Advisory organisation called CHHAYA.

Kamal Singh - MBE


Kamal Preet Singh – Former Head, Governance & Social Justice, British Council, India.Science graduate, Masters in Public Administration. Honoured with the award of MBE by the British Government in recognition of her contribution to areas of gender equality, child rights, public sector reforms etc. Extensive experience of developing Indo-UK partnerships with central/State governments, institutions, academics, NGOs and international agencies in women's rights, governance, social justice and corporate social responsibility (with management educators). Excellent skills in project/training design, delivery, evaluation, documentation, strategic planning, capacity building, networking and communication. From 2009-2012 Member of National Consultative Committee of University Grants Commission's project on women in higher education. Currently involved in capacity building of organisations on implementing the Act on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace.


Publications and articles include: She too can build and mould the nation, a training manual for elected women councillors in Punjab; Development of micro-enterprises by women; Counselling Skills for agents of change. Prof. M. Z. Khan

M. Z. Khan, MSW, Ph.D. started his professional career as Assistant Professor at the DHG (Central) University, Sagar .  Has worked with the Ministry of Welfare (now Social Justice & Empowerment), ,  and  Home Affairs, GOI.  He worked at Jamia Millia Islamia (University), New Delhi, as Professor of Social Work and was also Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences.


Professor Khan has implemented several research projects sponsored by national (ICSSR, UGC, MSJ&E, WCD, etc) and international (BHC, CIDA, UNDP, UNICEF and WHO) agencies. His skills include research methodology, statistical applications and computer data analysis. He has provided consultancy services to many organisations including Doordarshan, NACO, and Rockefeller Foundation.


He is past President of Indian Society of Professional Social Workers and past President of Indian Society of Criminology. In 1983, Dr. Khan was awarded the prestigious Kumarappa-Reckless Award.  In 1991, Calcutta University conferred on him a medal for his studies on drug dependence.


Dr. Khan has contributed nearly 100 papers in scientific journals published from India and abroad has authored fourteen books.


Since 2001, Prof. (Dr.) M. Z. Khan has been actively associated with ACORD — designing of research studies, developing tools of data collection, directing data analysis, overseeing report preparation and overall monitoring of research projects. Prof. Prem Sibbal is a former Assistant General Manager at Bank of Baroda, where he headed the Credit Monitoring and CDR division of the Bank at its Corporate Office.

Served as Chairman of a Regional Rural Bank – a JV of Bank of Baroda, G.O.I and Uttrakhand Government – and achieved turnaround of the Bank. He was the Nominee director on another JV Bank, and was posted for 4+ years at the United Arab Emirates.
